Obituary for Dianne L. Gilbertson Jones

Dianne Lorriane Gilbertson Jones, age 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2016.
She was born to Donald and Lorraine (Gilstad) Gilbertson on January 17, 1943 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Dianne was Honored Queen of Job's Daughters as a young girl. She graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 1961, then attended Eau Claire State University before she moved to Dallas, Texas in 1962.
She is survived by her daughter Lori Denise Jones Borders, two granddaughters, Jessica and Janie Borders all of Aledo, Texas, her sisters Ruth Anne Gilberson (John Lauson) and Kathryn Tanner of Chippewa Falls, niece Rachel Tanner, and nephew/godson Johnathan Tanner, both of Eau Claire. Sharon Munich, her life long friend since fourth grade, Mary Baskin, her dear friend in Texas, and Bill Herrmann have been her most loyal and trusted friends on her journey.

Dianne had a wonderful work ethic. Her first job in Dallas was at Neiman-Marcus as a personal buyer. She helped support her family through her hard work at several companies. When she returned to Chippewa Falls in 1990, she began working at XMI. In 2000 Dianne and Sharon Munich opened Just Kiss It Good Buy, later renamed Gently Kissed Treasures, an upscale consignment furniture and fine accessories store. Sadly, the store closed in December 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lorraine Gilbertson, her godmother Ruth Pederson, and cousin Kay Gilbertson Stecher.

Dianne was a loving and wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who loved her family and friends and loved life. Walking through the woods, fishing and spending time outdoors was always her favorite things to do. She was fiercely independent and enjoyed gardening, doing crafts, working at the shop and on countless improvement projects in her historic home; which she lovingly restored. Always thinking, always planning, she was a creative visionary who could see potential in things where others could not and then would work tirelessly to make them beautiful. Her joy was seeing those things accomplished and having others marvel that she could actually make that happen.

Please join us as we honor Dianne in a celebration of her life at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Saturday December, 10th at 1:00 PM with a visitation an hour before the service. A lunch will be served after the celebration and buried at Prairie View Cemetery.
