Dennis J. Zwiefelhofer, age 75, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at The Maple Wood in Bloomer after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born September 9, 1938 in Bloomer to Henry and Armella (Postle) Zwiefelhofer. He married Suzette Schroetter on October 12, 1963 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. Denny served in the US Air Force and worked as a welder at Catalytic in Bloomer for 35 years. He was a huge Packer and Brewer fan, an animal lover and enjoyed a good polka, charcoaling chicken and cutting wood. He enjoyed confusing everyone by setting the clock for Daylight Savings time a day in advance. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, a Little League Coach and a volunteer for the Bloomer Fire Department. Dennis loved spending time with his family and friends and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Sue of Bloomer; three sons: Mike (Kathy) Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer, Tim (Stephanie) Zwiefelhofer of Westfield IN and Garret (Kari) Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer; one sister: Joanne (Francis) Ruff-Yohnk of Bloomer; five grandchildren: Linsey, Nicholas, Olivia, Trey and Skylar Zwiefelhofer.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Armella; one brother: Ronald Zwiefelhofer; brother-in-law: Howard Ruff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer with Father John Potaczek officiating. Interment of ashes will be in the South Catholic Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the Bloomer VFW and American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Friday at the Olson Funeral home in Bloomer where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 7:30. There will also be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
