Delana Sue Calkins

Delana Calkins, age 63, died on June 1, 2023 at her home in Jim Falls due to health complications.  She was born January 28, 1960 in Cadillac MI to Dale and Rhoda (Vandenboss) Herrick.  She shared her life with Doug Warne for 30 years and together they worked on the family  farm.  She also was a caregiver at several assisted living facilities in the area.  She was an amazing cook and enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her grandkids.  She loved people watching while smiling with her family and friends. 

She is survived by her daughters: Jessica Calkins of New Auburn and Jennifer (Jon) Hager of Stanley; devoted partner for 30 years: Doug Warne; sister:  Paula (Curly) Christianson of New Auburn; step-son:  Kyle (Nicole) Warne of Watertown S.D.; grandchildren: Caden and Conner Calkins, Rachel, Joshua, Erin and Madilyn Hager;  Masyn, Maddox, Malick, Maliyah Warne;  brother in-law Paul Knoll of New Auburn; numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Dale and Rhoda; Sister Valeta; brothers:  Terry and Tom;  step-daughter: Katie Warne; niece:  Stacy Christianson.

A memorial service will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 7:00 PM with a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home before the service.  Online condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
