David J. Dachel

David J. Dachel, age 81,  passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Dove South in Eau Claire.  He was born April 26, 1942 in Wisconsin to Herbert and Violet (Schmidt) Dachel.  He married JoAnne Fanetti on February 27, 1965 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.  He served his country in the National Guard and worked for Catalytic Combustion in Bloomer. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, cruising around town, providing security for the Badger Hole between 3:30 – 5:00 and spending time with his two favorite “Doodlers”, Payton and Preston, his family and many friends.

He is survived by his sons: Shane Dachel of Texas and Jay (Jackie) Dachel of Bloomer;  sisters: Doris (Francis) Gaier, Diane Gaier and Deborah (Wayne) Berg;  grandchildren:  Payton (Madi Kiel) Dachel and Preston (Katelyn Omtvedt) Jenneman; sister-in-law:  Cynthia Dachel;  K9 Companion: Tilly, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne in 2008;  his parents:  Herbert and Violet; brother:  Dennis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.  There will be a visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 on Tuesday with a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.  Interment will be at the North Catholic Cemetery with military honors by the Bloomer American Legion/VFW/AMVETS.  Online Condolences may be expressed at olsonfuneralhomebloomer.com
