Dale T. Herrick

Dale T. Herrick, age 90, passed away at his home in New Auburn on Sunday, April 22, 2018. He was born on July 27, 1927 in Stanley WI to Thomas and Jennie (Johnson) Herrick. Dale married Rhoda Vanderboss on April 30, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. He worked in construction and also laid telephone cable for many years. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII and Korea and was a member of the American Legion in New Auburn. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. Dale was a storyteller and a jokester, always willing to share a tale or two with his family and friends. He loved his family and his grandkids very much.

He is survived by his son: Thomas Herrick of Bloomer; daughters: Paula (John) Christianson of New Auburn, Delana (Doug Warne) Calkins of Cadott and Valeta (Paul) Knoll of New Auburn; sisters: Virginia (Wilfred) Hakes and Lola Rummery; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Rhoda; son: Terry; granddaughter: Stacy Rae Christianson; numerous siblings

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Lutheran Church in New Auburn followed by Military Honors will be provided by the New Auburn American Legion. There will be a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Mount Nebo Cemetery in the Town of Jump River.
