Cynthia A. Bitney, age 73, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Dove West in Eau Claire. She was born August 20, 1942 in Chippewa County to Clifford and Lorraine (Hoffert) Nyhagen. She married John E. Bitney on November 25, 1962 in New Auburn. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer and enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, fishing with John and sharing a good cup of tea with family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter: Amy (Dennis) Eliason of Eau Claire; four sons: Mark (Wendy) Bitney of Bloomer, Thomas (Laura) Bitney of Chippewa Falls, Bob (Susan) Bitney of Chetek and Mitchell (Mona) Bitney of Kongsberg, Norway; two brothers; Allen (Linda) Nyhagen of New Auburn and Terry Nyhagen of North Carolina; two sisters: Judy (Eugene) Gravunder of Pine River WI and Cheri Pooler of Madison WI; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Clifford and Lorraine Nyhagen; husband: John; brother: Dale Nyhagen; brother-in-law: David Pooler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in the Town of Bloomer. Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 on Thursday at the Olson Funeral home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
