Curtis Leavens

Curtis C. Leavens, age 68, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born October 1, 1944 in Sand Creek to Clarence and Louisa (Libersky) Leavens. He married Sandra Busjahn on November 25, 1989 in Bloomer. He served in the US Army during the Viet Nam war and worked for Allways Transit as a trucker. He was a member of the Bloomer VFW and enjoyed NASCAR racing, the Packers and playing cards.

He is survived by his wife: Sandra of Bloomer; his mother: Louisa Leavens of Bloomer; Sons: Scott (Maria) Leavens of Hugo MN and Carl Braden of Colorado; one daughter: Kelly Caleb of Estherville IA; one brother: LaVerne (Jane) Leavens of Bloomer; two sisters: Sharon (Kevin) Berg of Big Lake AK and Charleen (Fred) Martin of Hudson WI; four grandchildren: Alissa and Kyle Braden, Tiarra and David Caleb.

He was preceded in death by his father: Clarence and one brother: Gordon Leavens.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Sue Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
