Clement A. Goettl

Clement A. Goettl, age 77, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester on Wednesday September, 20 2017. He was born in Bloomer on November 11, 1939 in the town of Tilden to Albert and Veronica (Swoboda) Goettl. He married Bertha Riese on October 17, 1959 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. Clem worked as a farmer for all of his life and also sold Christmas trees for 26 years. He truly loved working on the farm and spending time with his family. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the occasional trip to the casino and cruising in his Kubota.


He is survived by eight sons: Lyle (Kelly) of Chippewa Falls, Clement “Shorty” (Mari) of Bloomer, Theodore (Lisa) Of Chippewa Falls, Joseph (Shelly) of Bloomer, Tony (Tammy) of Berlin WI, Eric of Chippewa Falls, Grant of Sun Prairie and Victor (Fiancé Rose Hermanson) Goettl of Chippewa Falls; 3 daughters: Lois (David) Fredrickson of Chippewa Falls, Jane Roycraft of Chippewa Falls WI, Susan (James) Caterer of Eleva WI; brothers: Michael (Beverly), Leonard (Kathy) and Albert (Nancy) Goettl all of Chippewa Falls; sisters: Emily (Clarence) Meinen of Chippewa Falls, Marilyn (Randy) Bowe of Chippewa Falls and Cheri Stolt of Bloomer; brother in-law: Vernon Steinmetz; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Bertha in 2016, son; Ernest Goettl; parents: Albert and Veronica Goettl; sister: Eunice Steinmetz; brother in-law: Wayne “Skeeter” Stolt; Berthas parents: Antonious and Elizabeth Riese

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls at 10:30 AM. A wake service will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM on Sunday September, 24, 2017 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a Christian Wake Service at 7:30 PM.
