Clayton Olds

Clayton H. “Blackie” Olds, age 91, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Bloomer. He was born March 5, 1922 in the town of Sampson to Harry and Ida (Hassemer) Olds. He married Loretta Lehrer on May 2, 1942 in Bloomer. He served in the US Army during WWII and worked as a truck driver for Chippewa Motor Freight. He was an active member of the Bloomer American Legion and VFW. Clayton was a caring and loving husband to Loretta for over 71 years. He loved to spend time with his children and especially his grandchildren. Clayton enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping, playing cards and kept a detailed journal of all the events of each day.

He is survived by his wife: Loretta; children: Gary (Jean) Olds of New Auburn, Pam (David) Emerson of Eleva and Debra (Tim) Carlson of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law: Alvin and Isabel Olds
