Obituary for Clarence E. Hunt

Clarence E. Hunt, age 90, formerly of Bloomer, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 in Naples, Florida. He was born June 4, 1924 in Todd County, South Dakota to Ray and Christie (Withee) Hunt, the oldest of their five sons. The moved to Wisconsin in 1938 and graduated from Bloomer in 1942. He married Adeline LaRose in 1948 and together raised four children on a farm near Sheldon. He served in the US Marine Corps during WWII and worked as a self employed auctioneer. Adeline passed away on November 23, 1974 and in the late 1970’s Clarence moved to Florida. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and watching ball games on TV.

He is survived by four children: Amy Swiantkiewicz of Las Vegas, Alberta (Robert) Metnik of Eau Claire, Gordon (Louise) Hunt of West Bend and Dale (Phyllis) Hunt of Naples FL; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three brothers: Carl, Clifford and Harold Hunt; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Christie Hunt; wife: Adeline, brother: Claude, son in-law Chuck Swiantkiewicz; Norma Huisman-Hunt

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Olson Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Bloomer Cemetery with military honors preformed by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW.
