Obituary for Charles William Curavo

Charles W. Curavo, age 89, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. He was born October 17, 1924 in the Town of Sampson, Chippewa County WI to Lewis A. and Mabel (Cole) Curavo. He married Thelma Kinsley on March 25, 1950 in St. Louis. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a heavy equipment operator for highway construction. He enjoyed working with tractors and heavy equipment, deer hunting, fishing, doing yard work, being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons: William Curavo of Lake View SC and Robert (Jacquelyn) Curavo of New Auburn; two daughters: Cheryl (Robin) Mattson of New Auburn and Juanita (Mark) Formon of Lehigh Acres FL; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis and Mabel Curavo; his wife: Thelma; one brother: Herbert Curavo; five sisters: Fern Pecore, Lorraine Anderson, Grace Flynn, Delsie Turner, Ellen Zoll.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek with military graveside rites performed by the New Auburn American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Friday at the Olson Funeral home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
