Charles Brekken

Charles A. Brekken age 81, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was born at his home in Barron County on August 2, 1937 to Olin and Mildred (Davis) Brekken. He married Mary Jane Dunstan on February 11, 1967 in Lake Forest IL. Charles loved his life as a dairy farmer. He was a life-long learner, getting his college degree and then attending 4 years of Divinity School. He enjoyed studying the Bible and shared his knowledge by leading a Sunday School class where discussion was encouraged. He loved playing the piano, enjoying the old time hymns as well as music from the 40s and 50s. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Mary of Bloomer; sons: Mark (Christie) of Belleville IL, David of New Auburn and Timothy (Rachel) of Bloomer; brothers: Wayne (Carol) Brekken of Minneapolis MN and Clyde (Connie) Brekken of New Auburn; sister: Ona (Mel) Cruts of Mount Vernon MO; grandchildren: Nicolas, Jonathan (Morgan), Steven, Lainey, Lydia, Luke, Levi, Landan, Lillian and Laura.

He was preceded in death by his parents: one son in infancy: Michael.

A memorial service will be held at the Bloomer Baptist Church on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
