Obituary for Catherine Ann Rihn (Meinen)

Catherine Ann Rihn, 85, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. Catherine was born on July 30, 1924 in Chippewa County, Wisconsin to Bernard & Katherine (Boos) Meinen. She married Theodore Rihn on August 29, 1942 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. She worked at Foster Forbes Glass Factory and at Southern Colony. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards (especially Tick), going to the casino and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters: Judy (Fred) Henningfield of Burlington WI, Jean (Kenny) Swett of Waterford, WI, Nancy Millhouse of Minocqua, WI; one son: Bill (Shirley) Rihn of Bloomer, two sisters: Margaret Rubenzer of Tilden and Ann Schmidt of Bloomer;13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ted; one son, Larry Rihn; two sisters: Marita and Regina; four brothers: George, Roman, Bernard & Julius.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Pastor Bruce Rimmereid officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Monday. Interment will take place at the Bloomer Cemetery following the service. Lunch will be served at St. John’s Lutheran Church following the committal.
