Bruce T. Svitak

Bruce T. Svitak, age 79, of Bloomer, WI passed away with family by his side on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at his home.

Bruce was born on November 26, 1946, in South Minneapolis, MN to Thomas and Marion (Sjoberg) Svitak. He graduated from Richfield High School then enlisted to honorably serve his country during the Vietnam War, with the U.S. Army as an MP.

Bruce married Barbara Allen on May 22, 1971, in Minneapolis, MN. He worked for the US Postal Service as a dispatch supervisor for motor vehicle services until 2001. Bruce was a natural DIY handyman who was always willing to fix, build, help and figure out many projects. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting postal badges, playing cards and tinkering with his 1934 Ford 5 window coupe.

Bruce is survived by his wife: Barb Svitak; two daughters: Denise Svitak and Cheryl (Matt) Rich-Svitak; brother: Craig (Betty) Svitak; four grandchildren: Anni Greeman, Natasha Greeman, Katrina Greeman and Nicole Blystone; four great grandchildren: Bella, Zoe, Santana and Brandon Jr.; in-laws: Brenda Benske, Dillon Allen and Lila (Kim) Halverson; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded death by his parents: Thomas and Marion Svitak; and sister-in-law: Lorna Allen.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Bloomer Moose Lodge, 1890 9th Ave, Bloomer, WI 54724. A short service will begin at 4:00 PM, with a charcoal chicken dinner and party to follow.  Military Honors will be performed by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW.
