Obituary for Bernadette Rose Nimtz (Bowe)

Bernadette R. Nimtz, age 90, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 in Bloomer at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Chippewa Valley. She was born January 25, 1921 in Bloomer to Charles and Rose (Boos) Bowe. She married Eckhardt “Shorty” Nimtz on November 19, 1945 in Chippewa Falls. Bernadette was a caring and loving wife and mother. She was a tremendous cook, enjoyed gardening, flowers and bird watching and loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by one son: David (Cindy) Nimtz of Bloomer; three daughters: Janice Dulas of Elk Mound, Elizabeth (Tim) Blum of Tilden and Rose Marie (Tom) Powell of New Auburn; one sister: Thelma Downey of Eau Claire; three sisters in law: Mary Bowe of Chicago, Genevieve Nimtz of Bloomer and Helen Nimtz of West Bend; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Shorty; one brother: Alvin Bowe; three sisters: Marge Koules, Mildred Breakey and Dorothy White; two grandchildren: Joni and Joe Blum.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Bloomer Baptist Church with Pastor Eldon Carlson officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
