Audrey Hetzel (AKA to her daughters and grandchildren as The Woman Who Calls Crows), died peacefully on October 27, 2010 at her lake home in the Northwoods near Butternut, WI. Her family was with her as she passed.
Audrey will be missed by her husband of 59 years, Gerald; her daughters Mary Ellen Hetzel, Nancy (George) Yostel and Cathy (Brad) Allen; her five grandkids, her brother Gerald (Pat) Giese; and many extended family, close friends and six grand dogs.
She was preceded in death by son, James, parents Olga and John Giese and brother Eugene Giese.
Audrey lived her life to the fullest with a sense of joy. Her focus was on her husband, kids, grandkids and friends. She enjoyed the outdoors, garage sales, crafting, traveling with her daughters, making lefsa, tobogganing down steep slopes, relaxing on her dock, beach combing Lake Superior, playing nickel slots and savoring a piece of chocolate.
We will be celebrating Audrey’s life with a gathering of friends and family on November 1, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls WI; Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial of ashes will be on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to Marshfield Hope Lodge, 611 W Doege St., Marshfield WI 54449.
