Arlen Schomburg

Arlen F. Schomburg, age 62, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Luther Midelfort Hospital in Bloomer. He was born June 2, 1947 in LaCrosse WI to Fritz & Myrtle (Hauser) Schomburg. He married Colleen Brooks on April 22, 1972 in Norwalk WI. He was a farmer and self-employed farm machinery mechanic. He attended the Bloomer Baptist Church and loved witnessing for Christ, reading his Bible, working, cultivating his berry fields, working with his dogs - “The Beagle Patrol”, dancing, sponsoring the yearly “Hootenanny” and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Colleen of New Auburn; two sons: John (Mari) Schomburg of Fall River WI & Jared (Elizabeth) Schomburg of Roscoe IL; two daughters: Bridget (Christian) Schnider of Rice Lake & Connie (Ben Ballweg) Schomburg of Fall River WI; two brothers: Richard (Barb) Schomburg of West Salem WI & Gary (Pam) Schomburg of Bangor WI; two sisters: Lois (Bob) Elliot of West Salem WI & Linda (Dave) Werner of West Salem WI; eight grandchildren: Brittany, Tanton & Taryn Schnider, Justice, Haven & Brook Schomburg, James & Grayson Schomburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother; one infant daughter: Beverly Sue; one infant son.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Bloomer Baptist Church with Rev. Eldon Carlson officiating. Interment will be in the Farmer’s Valley Cemetery in Sparta. Friends may call from 4:00 �" 8:00 on Tuesday and one hour prior to services at the Bloomer Baptist Church located at 2620 Duncan Rd.
