Obituary for Archie A. Pecha

Archie A. Pecha, age 84, passed away Thursday March 15, 2012 at his home in Arcadia, Florida with his family by his side. He was born March 7, 1928 in Bloomer to John and Christina (Borofka) Pecha. He married Ardella (Postle) Dachel and her three children on January 19, 1963 in Bloomer. Archie was a milk hauler and farmer, purchasing the 80 acre family farm from his Dad. He went into business with Gerald Bleskacek and together they started P & B Enterprises which later became A-1 Companies. Archie was also involved in several other businesses including, The Lamp Lite Inn, Mom’s Carry-out, The Anderson Hotel, Bloomer Dairy Farms and was on the Board of Directors at Peoples State Bank. His generous spirit was a stepping stone to the completion of the Bloomer Aquatic Center. Archie enjoyed his home in Florida as well as sitting on the deck at the cabin overlooking Round Lake in Northern Wisconsin. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Arcadia FL and the Bloomer Moose Lodge. He loved shooting trap, playing cards, the Bloomer Polka Festival, driving the old steam engine in parades, enjoying drinks with his friends at King’s Inn and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren

He is survived by his wife: Ardella Pecha; sons: Jeff Dachel, Terry Pecha, and Todd (Heather) Pecha; daughters: Rhonda (Tom) Mohr, Melanie (Greg) Rubenzer, Melissa (Larry) Nyhus and Cindy Dachel; sister: Dolores Bresina; 15 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Christina; brothers: Joe, Gilbert, Roy and Frank Pecha; sisters Frieda Swartz and Alvina Zweifelhofer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Olson Funeral Home. There will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the North Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Bloomer Area Recreational Center/Pecha Memorial Pool.
