Alton P. Hodges

Alton Pless Hodges, age 61 passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at his home in New Auburn. He was born October 7, 1955 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Surry County North Carolina to Richard “Pless” and Rachel (Bryant) Hodges, Jr. He married Elizabeth “Ann” Edmonds on November 28, 1981 in Galax VA. He worked as a farmer for all of his life and was a member of the Chetek and Bloomer Masonic Lodges. In his free time he enjoyed doing woodworking, carving, whittling and farming.

He is survived by his parents: Richard and Rachel; wife: Ann of New Auburn; sons: Matthew, Jason, Adam (Fiancé: Andrea Glad) and Andy (Hannah) Hodges, all of New Auburn; daughter: Abby (Christopher) Dahl of New Auburn; brother: Jeffery (Peggy) Hodges of North Carolina; one grandchild: Camden Dahl.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Troy and Alpha Bryant; paternal grandparents: Richard & Elector Hodges, Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, October 11 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Chetek.
