Allen Novak

Allen L. Novak, age 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. He was born June 24, 1942 in Chetek to William and Thelma (Monness) Novak. He married Janet Pinnerud on June 23, 1962 at Dovre Lutheran Church. He worked as a lineman for Barron Electric Cooperative and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers # 953. He had an easy-going personality and enjoyed rising early in the morning, deer hunting, working with wood and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Janet of Chetek; sons: Jim Novak of Rice Lake and David Novak of Chetek; daughter: Pam Smith of New Auburn; brothers: Loren (Jere) Novak of Chetek, Kenneth (Esther) Novak of Bloomer, Gary Novak of Chetek, Donald (Rosemarie) Novak of Chetek and Dale Novak of Chetek; sister: Carol (Ray) Cherney of Boyceville; grandchildren: Ryan Hanson , Sarah Hanson, Devin Smith, Zane Smith, Joshua Flug, Adair Flug, Jesse Flug; great-grandchildren: Dalton Flug, Noah and Issac Hanson, Cole Olson and Chasity Flug; numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Michele Flug; grandson: Michael Jacobsen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Dovre Lutheran Church in the Town of Dovre, Barron County. Interment will be in the Dovre Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday at the church. There will be no visitation Sunday evening. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is in charge of arrangements.
