Allen Boos was born on November 2, 1952 to Ludwig and Clara (Geissler, Zenner) Boos. Allen grew up in the Bloomer area. First on a dairy farm south of Bloomer on the George Goettl farm. When he was seven or eight the family moved to Bloomer. Allen attended St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Bloomer High School. In 1963 Allen's dad died suddenly from a hear attack. Difficult times for the family. Allen continued to live and work in the Bloomer area until he was in his late twenties or early thirties when he made the decision to move out West and make a life for himself in Idaho and Oregon. Allen worked road construction, some guiding of hunters who hoped to bag elk or deer, and helped on ranches in the area.
Allen loved the outdoors. He loved the mountains and the solitude that they offered. Allen had many friends both back in Wisconsin and in Oregon where he was living when he passed away on January 16, 2023. Material things never meant much to him. He lived a simple life. His heart was much bigger than he was. In his life he enjoyed hunting, football, being around cattle and horses, fishing and his cat Puss. Above all Allen loved his family and friends even though he couldn't spend much time with them in Wisconsin. His Oregon friends shared life with him and enjoyed a beer together once in a while. He will be missed much by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Lud and Clara, his grandparents Harold and Mary (Zwiefelhofer) Geissler, Henry and Loretta (Ruff) Boos, step dad Lynn Zenner, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He has left behind two sisters, Audrey (Raymond) Gonia of San Antonio TX, Ann (Randy) Poirier of Donna, TX, and four nieces Dulcey Conrad, Randi Lyn Ross, Amanda Farrell, and Samantha Darnell and their families.
Burial will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery by his mother and father. There will be a celebration of life from 12:00-3:00 PM on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the White Pine in Bloomer, with lunch served at 12:30.
