Alice C. Davis, age 89, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. She was born May 28, 1924 in Strum to Otto and Ethel (Kitch) Rognlien. She married Stanton C. Davis on December 29, 1946 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. She worked a short time as a bookkeeper for Baier trucking, was a teacher’s reading helper and took great pride in being a homemaker for her family. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer and, after moving to Rice Lake, she joined Bethany Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. She held member ships in the GFWC Rice Lake Woman’s Club, the Rice Lake Fortnight Club, PETA and was also politically active. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling in their motor home, being a homemaker, caring for her pet dogs and cat, spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter: Kathleen (Dan) Faschingbauer of Bloomer; one sister: Doris Michelson of West Salem; four grandchildren: Carol (Tom) Davis, James Faschingbauer, Heather (Todd) Pecha and Jaclyn (Mike Nemitz; eight great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Kali, Trevor, Addison, Madalyn, Gavin, Gwendalyn and Arianna.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Otto and Ethel; her husband: Stanton in 1996; two sons: Timothy in 1969 and Thomas in 1975; three brothers: Arthur, Donald and Stanley Rognlien; one sister: Betty Rognlien; one great-grandson: Nathan Davis.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery.
