Alfred Moos

Alfred E. “Butch” Moos, age 71, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Eau Claire. He was born December 15, 1941 in Joliet IL to Alfred and Lillian (Hoffman) Moos. He married Jean Gullicksen and, after her death, married Phyllis Bourn on July 11, 1981 in Plainfield IL. Al was a dairy farmer through and through. He loved working the land, milking the cows and journaling the daily activities of farm life. After retiring from milking, he began driving milk truck and was happy being able to keep in touch with a part of his life he loved so much. He was a member of the Bloomer United Methodist Church and participated in their dartball league. When he wasn’t busy with farm work, you could probably see Al reading something, his favorite being his farming newspapers. He enjoyed, collecting toy tractors and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Phyllis of Chippewa Falls; two daughters: Julie (Scott) Mueller of Elk Mound and Jamie (Nick) Davis of Chippewa Falls; one brother: Don (Ilene) Moos of Chetek; one sister: Alice (George) Lange of Lockport IL; five grandchildren: Ryan and Nicole Mueller, Bryanna Troutz, Lilly Douglas and Kendall Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Lillian; his first wife: Jean; one daughter: Cheryl Lynn Moos.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Bloomer with Pastor Heather Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Monday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
