Obituary for Alexander J. Grabowski

Alexander John Grabowski, Jr., age 77, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Maple Wood in Bloomer, Wisconsin. He was born July 15, 1932 in Chicago IL to Alexander & Victoria (Mucha) Grabowski. He married Joan Taland on October 29, 1955 in Chicago IL. He was a member of the National Guard for 10 years and worked as a tax inspector for Western Union. He and Joan owned and operated the White Birch Inn in Bloomer for 15 years. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, farming, dancing, fishing, going to auctions, bowling and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Joan of New Auburn; three daughters: Sharon (Michael) Houk of Tinley Park IL, Catherine Pinto of New Lenox IL & Sandy (Ron) Reinstein of Plainfield IL; three brothers: John of New Auburn, William (Jean) of Braidwood IL & Walter (Linda) of Grand Marsh WI; two sisters: Frances Milazo of Oak Forest IL & Dorothy (Fred) Schutter of Itasca IL; 5 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Victoria.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 20 at 9:30 AM at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Midlothian IL. Interment will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Justice IL. Friends may call from 3:00 �" 9:00 on Thursday at the McKenzie Funeral Home in Oak Forest, IL. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is in charge of arrangements.
