Al Parkhurst, age 73, died on January 11, 2023 in the town of Birch Creek, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. He was born on November 4, 1949 to Jesse and Louise (Gorton) Parkhurst. Al worked at Wisconsin Metal Fabrication for many years. He married Rena Stratton on May 6, 1995 in Jim Falls. Al was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, rooting on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. He loved being outdoors, working in the flower garden, cruising on his pontoon, motor cycle or golf cart, camping, tinkering and making yard art. Al had a great sense of humor and Christmas was always his favorite time of year. He was a devoted husband and loving brother and will be truly missed
He is survived by his wife: Rena; children: Michelle and Brandy; siblings: George (Darlene) Parkhurst of Martinsville IN, Charlie (Pam) Parkhurst of Jim Falls, Thomas (Jennifer) Parkhurst of Cornell, Bonnie Colbenson of Bloomer, Kathryn Parkhurst of Chippewa Falls; mother in-law: Marilyn Stratton of Chippewa Falls; siblings-in-law: Linda Parkhurst of Cornell, Scott (LaVonne) Stratton of Chippewa Falls; Ronda (Mark) Darling of Rock Falls, Tim (Sandy) Stratton of Chetek, Tammy Johnson of Rice Lake, Jim Stratton of Chippewa Falls, Todd (Leah) Stratton of Texas, Mark (Missy) Wagner of Jim Falls, Toby Stratton of Fairchild; feline companion: Fat Cat; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Jesse and Louise; siblings: Leon (Jean), Jesse, Alice (Clarence) Sieg, Patsy (Jim) Randall and twins: Barb and Beverly; father-in-law: Don Stratton; brothers-in-law: Kirby E. Colbenson and Tommy Stratton; aunts and uncles: Barbara (James Walters, Romie Swan and Cheryl Nunke; nephew: Michael Johnson; cousin: Tony Nunke, K9 companion: Oscar Parkhurst.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Jim Falls Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of life and lunch at the Anson Town Hall until 4:00 PM.
