Obituary for Aaron F. Lee

Aaron F. Lee, age 80, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Chippewa Valley. He was born August 26, 1930 in Colfax WI to Arthur & Florence (Ellingson) Lee. He married Shirley Peterson on December 15, 1951 in Sand Creek WI. Aaron was a sergeant in the Army and a combat veteran of the Korean War, serving as Chief of a Howitzer Section and Gun Crew. He was the owner and operator of Lee’s Cleaners, a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Bloomer American Legion, Bloomer Chamber of Commerce and Bloomer Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed bird hunting with his dogs, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends at his cabin on Lake 26 in Burnett County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Gardie and Erling Lee; one grandson: Baby David.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley of Bloomer; one son: Gregory Lee of Bloomer; two daughters: Kathy Lee Evans of Eau Claire and Peggy Lee of Eau Claire; one sister: Margaret Montes of Loomis CA; five grandchildren: Aaron Daniel, Nathan, Nikki, Michael and Adam; one great granddaughter: Sophia; one godson: Robbie Railton; special friends: his dogs Annie and Joey.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 on Thursday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
