Alfred E. Marquardt

Alfred E. Marquardt, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. He was born July 30, 1946 in Wisconsin to Clinton and Florence (Stanley) Marquardt. He married Mary Jane Smetana in May of 1965. Following her death in 2000, he married Roxanne Waite in July of 2001. Al worked at Chippewa Shoe Company, was a bulk milk hauler for Gene Engel, LP delivery service for Chippewa Farmer’s Union, Jim Fall’s Dairy and was a supervisor from July 1972 – February 2010 at Cenex Harvest States (tank farm). He enjoyed repairing and reselling old cars, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing and especially loved taking care of animals.

He is survived by his wife: Roxanne of Bloomer; children: Sheila (Frank) Marquardt-Paulich of Eau Claire; Gene Marquardt of Chetek and Bill Marquardt of Florida; grandchildren: Levi Marquardt, Shiann Marquardt and Katie Paulich; step children: Jennifer Force of Oshkosh WI and Amanda Baumann of St. Cloud MN; step-grandchildren: Xavier, Remington and Vincent Force, Hailey and Nakota Baumann.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Clinton and Florence Marquardt; his first wife: Mary Jane; brother: Melvin Marquardt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 3:30 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a time of gathering from 1:00 – 3:30 PM.
